The Salvation Army will have until Sept. 30 to move its downtown thrift store operation from Concord Street to its new location on Worcester Road.
Framingham Selectmen granted the Salvation Army an extension of its second hand license to Sept. 30 to give the Army time to completely shut down its facility at 30-45 Concord St. All fixtures and product will be moved to the new store, at 215 Worcester Rd, where the Pier 1 Imports was housed, by then, said Maj. Michael Copeland of the Salvation Army.
When asked by Selectman Dennis Giombetti, Maj. Copeland said there will be a banner indicating that the store operations have moved to Worcester Road. The Salvation Army will have personnel at the Concord Street store to direct shoppers and donors to the facility on Route 9.
